Bacteria Source Load Calculator

The center developed the BSLC software tool to assist with the bacterial source characterization process and to automate the creation of input files for water quality modeling. The BSLC was developed using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Microsoft Excel and designed to organize and process the bacterial inputs needed to develop a TMDL to address a bacterial impairment.

The BSLC user’s manual includes step-by-step instructions to direct users through the program and generate bacterial loading results for a particular watershed. The manual also features detailed information about each required user-generated input, as well as information regarding interpretation of raw data and results, in the appendices.
